bully teacher

3rd day of school and so many teachers losing their voices... mee tooo....

seriously thinking of getting a portable mike.

i risk angering ppl by generalizing but i'll say this, in every school there's a teacher who is just plain mean towards new teachers.

its from a teachers point of view so i'm not referring to those who make students copy a page of their book as punishment for not doing hw.

and by experiance, they tend to be a senior female teacher.

scenario 1

"hey, you drink too much water. you know the dispenser (the polar 1 gallon tub kind) is for everyone to share?"

"but i'm thirsty... den how?"

"bring your own water!"

!?!?!??!?!?!?

scenario 2

"dont celebrate birthdays in the pantry, you might drop cake on the floor!"

"but its a teacher's birthday, and if you cant eat in the pantry, where to go?"

"do it outside"

!?!?!?!?

scenario 3

"you cant sit here, Ms X is sitting here" *points to an empty seat. Ms X is packing boxes at the side of the pantry*

"you cant read this newspaper (communal one, mind you) Ms X wants to read it"

"oh, go ahead kimi, i'm packing boxes"

"no you cannot, Ms X wants to read it"

!??!?!?!?!?!!? -btw, Ms X spent the next 15 min packing boxes while i was banished to sit on the couch reading my BSF notes, looking at empty seats where i cannot sit and a newspaper left alone which is 'booked', although the person it is for does not want to read it.

seriously.... they act as if the pantry is their "territory"

grrrr.....

but i small fry rookie teacher, they have been teaching longer than i've been breathing.

so respect lor, get out of their way lor....

must be xian me cos i have nicer pants.
